It was a history making weekend for senior Tyler Klinsky, in a season full of milestone moments. Klinsky became the program's first State Champion since 1974, and just their 2nd overall, with his title run at 113. Klinsky also set new Shore Conference records for most career wins, 169, and most wins in a single season, with 49. Fellow senior Fred Luchs also reached the AC podium, placing 8th at 120, giving North multiple State Medalists for the 2nd consecutive season, and third time in program history.

Those are the names senior Tyler Klinsky joined as members of the Shore Conference's 4-time Region Champions Club. Also winning a Region Title for the Lions on Saturday was Freddy Luchs, who avenged a District 22 Finals loss, by defeating 2-time returning champ, Joey Lamparelli of Allentown in the R6 120-pound final. They move on to States along with fellow seniors Thomas O'Keefe, who finished 2nd, and Chris McCarthy, who placed 3rd.

Tyler Klinsky became the program's 3rd ever 4-time District Champion, joining John Hockin and Mike Florio. He also moved into #2 on the Shore Conference's career wins list with his 161st victory in the finals. Thomas O'Keefe, Nico Cerbo and Eddie Farrell also won titles for the Lions, who now have 145 District Champions, leading all Monmouth County programs.

Down Low (106-132): North has some big time heavy hitters down here, led by senior Tyler Klinsky, who is ranked #19 in the nation by Intermat. The Rider-bound Klinsky, the State runner-up at 106 pounds last season, enters the year with 120 career victories, putting him 14 away from breaking the school's all-time record. He's joined by a pair of fellow seniors that both advanced to Atlantic City last season in Fred Luchs and Thomas O'Keefe. O'Keefe was a win away from a spot on the podium last year, while Luchs, who is two wins away from 100 career wins, was a pair of victories shy of also reach the Boardwalk Hall podium. Also back down low for North is junior Jack Butler, who placed 2nd at Districts a year ago. Those four, combined with a lot of promising young talent, give the Lions an extremely strong group in the lowerweights.
In The Middle (138-160): A trio of starters return in the middleweights for North, led by senior Chris McCarthy, a 25-bout winner and returning District Champ. Another senior returner is Eddie Farrell, a 3rd place finisher in the District last year. Also returning is Shaun Sullivan, who put up 11 wins as a freshman last year, and could be primed for a breakout year.
Up Top (170-Hwt): Three more starters are back in the fold in the uppers, as well. Junior Nico Cerbo recorded 25 wins last season, and was a runner-up at Districts, and finished 6th in the Region. He's another capable of a very big year for the Lions. Also returning are a pair of senior starters in Gabe Lubrano and heavyweight Andrew Kanski. Each won 10 bouts a season ago, but are capable of hitting the 20+ mark in 2020.
