3/6: Season Ends For Vorrius In AC
Junior Brandon Vorrius's season came to an end with a loss to Watchung Hills senior Evan Dill in the opening round of the 2009 NJSIAA Tournament in Atlantic City on Friday evening.
For the year, Vorrius finishes with a 33-4 record. He was the District 22 champion at 189 pounds, a 3rd place finisher in Region 6, and a runner-up at the Walter Woods and Hawk Classic tournaments. Vorrius will begin the 2009-2010 season with 71 career victories.

2/28: Vorrius Advances To Atlantic City!
Junior Brandon Vorrius placed 3rd in the 189 pound weight class of the 2009 Region 6 Tournament on Saturday to clinch his first career trip to Atlantic City.
Senior Tom Booth finished one win short of joining Vorrius on Boardwalk Hall. After dropping his semifinal bout to Southern's Glenn Carson, Booth pinned Lakewood's Dave Jusino in the wrestleback semifinals. In the 3rd place match, Booth was defeated by Brick Memorial's Billy Miller.

2/27: Vorrius & Booth Advance To Region Semis
Junior Brandon Vorrius and senior Tom Booth were victorious in their quarterfinal bouts of the Region tournament on Friday night. Vorrius picked up a 3-0 victory over Southern's Mike Case to move on, while Booth defeated CBA's Kyle Grimes for the 2nd time in less than a week (8-2) to advance.
Sophomore Zach Torchia and senior Mike Fish were defeated in their quarterfinal matches and now move into the single elimination wrestleback bracket.

2/21: Lions Crown 3 Champs, 5 Advance To Regions
Zach Torchia (103), Brandon Vorrius (189), and Tom Booth (215) took 1st place and Alex Dulin and Mike Fish placed 2nd as the Middletown North Lions advanced five wrestlers in all to the Region 6 Tournament and finished 5th as a team at this year's District 22 Championships.
The District titles for Torchia, Vorrius, and Booth were the first of their careers and gives them a bye into Friday night's Region quarterfinals.
With their 2nd place finishes, Dulin and Fish will next compete in Tuesday night's opening round of Regions at the Ritacco. Dulin will wrestle against John Palsi of Point Beach and Fish takes on Central's Tyler Nascimento.
